Phone stuck on preparing update

• if you’re using a vpn delete or remove it
• if no vpn make sure you’re on an unrestricted wifi
• restart device try again
• if fails attempt to update through iTunes
• if fails force update via recovery mode

A few bonus tips before doing this:

• make sure your computer is fully up to date
• vpns can cause connection issues
• if you can not get it to enter recovery mode try entering recovery mode while it’s plugged into a charger and wall outlet vs a computer
