IPad Pro 12.9” 2nd gen freezes and touching screen doesn’t work frequently

Help! My iPad Pro has started to freeze frequently, to the point thatI cannot type an email or comment properly and touching icons often has no effect. I have cleared the cache and updated to the most recent software, rebooted many, many times, and the problem is only getting worse. It’s becoming nearly unusable. Any suggestions?
