TestFlight requesting using my Apple ID to log into another device that’s not mine?

Hi, I have been sent an invite to test an app using TestFlight. When I click on the invite link, TestFlight launches and there is a pop up which reads:

”Apple ID Sign In Requested. *myappleID* Your Apple ID is being used to sign in to a device near San Jose, CA.”

Then there is the option of Allow or Do Not Allow.

Is this the usual procedure for testing an app in TestFlight? It doesn’t sound secure that my Apple ID is being used to sign in to a device that’s not mine in another country?
