iPhone XS contacts wont synch with 2020 GMC truck

My contacts will not sync with my 2020 GMC Canyon. The phone will sink and make and receive phone calls. In reading all the previous post it appears that when you click the I in the Bluetooth section, “my GMC” You should have an option to turn on sync contacts. The only option that I receive is forget this device and remove this device. How do I sync my contacts to my vehicle

iPhone XS, iOS 13

Hi Mgaud,

We understand you are unable to sync contacts to your car Bluetooth.

Usually, when iPhone connects to car Bluetooth, a prompt is displayed to sync Contacts & Favorites, however the car system must support this feature in order to receive this prompt.

If the only option in Bluetooth settings for your car is 'Forget This Device', it means the car does not support this feature.

We would recommend contacting your car manufacturer for a potential update.

Hope this helps!

This is not a vehicle issue as I have worked with the sales department in the service department. We have tried various phones and it does not work. There are numerous Apple forms that I have reading about this in the states that once the new iOS version came out people have no longer been able to download Contacts on the GM vehicle’s.

Hi Mgaud,

If the feature is not working on multiple phones, it is most likely related to an issue with the car system.

There may be an update required to maintain full functionality with newer versions of iOS.

We would recommend contacting the car manufacturer for information on this.

If there is no update available, we would recommend you Reset Network Settings. You can learn how to do so here: Return iPhone settings to their defaults.

If the issue persists further, we would recommend ensuring you have a backup of your data (How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch), then Restore your iPhone. You can learn how to do so here: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.

Once complete, Setup As a New Device (do not restore your backup).

If the issue is resolved, go ahead and restore your backup. You can learn how to do so here: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup.

If the issue recurs once your backup is restored, there may be an issue with your user data, in which case we would recommend you sync your content to a service such as iCloud, then erase your device and Setup As a New Device - all synced data will return, though you will need to re-download your apps and adjust your user settings to your preference.

Thanks again!
