I have a brand new, just out of the box, iphone 11. Just upgraded today. Literally within 3 minutes of using it, it heats up so much that it is almost too hot to hold. Whats the problem?

My brand new Iphone 11 heats up so much that it is almost too hot to hold. This happens after using it only a few minutes. I have had my phone less than 5 hours. Just upgraded today.

A. Genius Bar Appointment: Store List - Apple Store - Apple. You would set up a Genius Bar Appointment.

B. Send-In Service:

Normally, you'd take this to an Apple Store, but with many closed at the moment, send-in service might be an option for you.

How it would work:

  1. They’d: ship you a box
  2. You’d: ship it back
  3. They’d: look at it
  4. You’d: get a new one, if approved.

So, Call Apple Support:

Note: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due do lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
