Apple TV App is working on my iPhone. On FireTV it fails with the message "app is not currently available in your region". My region is supported.

Please specify your country or region, and does it match the country or region as set for the streaming device?
I believe the Fire TV device will take its region setting from the Amazon account. This also determines which apps are available to you, as apps may have region requirements of their own.
Lots of US Fire TV users are able to download the Apple TV app onto their device. Its seems the app doesn’t have the bug that you thought it might have.
I think this is TV+ app bug. It takes location (region) from somewhere in FireTV. And it is US. There is no way this settings could be changed. As the result - I cannot watch TV+ on Fire TV in supported region :(
Probably this is not TV+ app bug, but Fire TV bug. Regional settings on Amazon portal do not apply on Fire TV device. Does not matter what country you pick, Fire TV reports US region to the apps. Unfortunately, TV+ app believes it.
Anyway, TV+ app in non US regions does not work on Fire TV.
As I cannot consume the content, I will have to cancel my TV+ subscription :(
