Backup iPhone to external drive - possible?

Hi, does macOS Catalina10.15.6 (19G73) permit storing one's iPhone backup to an external HDD or SSD?

I cannot figure out how to not backup to: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

TIA!

AFAIK, you cannot change the destination location for iPhone backups to your computer.
