The charging case will not charge my left AirPod half of the time

The charging case will not charge my left AirPod half of the time. The phone also has a hard time recognizing the left AirPod. Sometimes the phone will not recognize the right AirPod but mostly I am having trouble with the left AirPod. I’m trying to figure out how to fix it since I am getting frustrated with the fact that I am having to reconnect my AirPods almost everyday. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
