Checking the Mac App Store for an ad blocker will stop most ads from loading and may resolve your issue.
It’s usually caused by ads or other resource-hogging frames on the webpage. If you need to page, short of contacting the website owner there’s not much you can do about it. It won’t hurt your Mac, except perhaps to drain the battery a little faster if you are not on AC power.
Without increasing your device's memory (Random Access Memory [RAM]), you simply have the choice of closing the webpage, as written by neuroanatomist, or simply ignoring the message (knowing that the "webpage is using significant memory").
It's simply all up to you.
If I do that then I can't use that page and that's not gonna work.
