I am having trouble signing on to my social media accounts since purchasing my new IPhone 11. When I try to retrieve my account the Facebook app confirms my phone number. Then it sends a code to reset my password, but the codes are not coming through on my sms text.
This is a problem with the app rather than your new iPhone.
Facebook has a two step verification method where if logging in from a new device it will send you a code. This is to stop just anybody logging into your account - it seems like you have it enabled. Are you receiving this code?
If you have access to your old device you can log into Facebook on there to generate a code, you can also do this on your computer if you've logged into Facebook before if you're unable to generate a code via SMS.
