Trying to update Apple Watch to iOS 6.2.8 and keep getting message that there was an error and couldn’t install. Any suggestions?

Try this;

Make sure that your watch is connected to wifi.
On your watch, open the Settings app.
Tap General > Software Update.
Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Model is Xr phone iOS version 13.5.1 watch model A1802 Watch iOs is 6.1.3

I double checked all that you said. It still took several tries but did finally update to new iOS. Thanks for your help.
