I have an older 32GB IPad and the message I'm getting is "There are no backups that are compatable with this version of iOS 9.3.6" Is there a way to bypass the backup process so I can use it again?

Yes, don't choose to restore a backup. Set it up as new.
Whatv exactly are you doing when you get that message? You should be able to simply not restore a backup.

What exactly did you to to get here? Explain the process exactly? Did you connect the device to iTunes? Are you setting up the iPad directly on the iPad's screen?
You may need to restore it with iTunes on a computer and start over: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
Thanks but I don't have the option to no restore. I can go 'Back' only and have to reenter login information, receive disclaimer agreements again, etc.
