Cannot connect Bluetooth keyboard and Trackpad after recent update

Hi Forum

I have an iMac from 2011 and the latest software update was recently installed. Yesterday, I turned off my iMac (I don't normally do that) and today, I turned it back on. However, my trackpad and bluetooth keyboard cannot connect to my iMac which literally prevents me from doing anything as I cannot log in with my user without a connected keyboard.

Is there any way I can either login without a keyboard (i have a mouse with a cord but not a keyboard) or a way to get my iMac to recognise my devices again? I appreciate any help.

Cheers

Solved. Or rather - the problem went away after restarting 6-7 times with both Keyboard and Trackpads turned off. In the end, the iMac started searching for the devices and after switching them on, both paired easily. Don't know what the root cause is.
