Passcode recovery

Hello. I am trying to recover iphone 7 pascode with specified steps but it doesn`t work. When I press volume down button apple logo appears but recovery mode does not. Can I recover my passcode without going in Apple support service center then?

Recover passcode After following Apple's online advice to recover forgotten passcode on my iPhone SE, my phone failed to get into recovery mode and went instead to a diagnostics page which failed to recognize the wifi signal I"m using now. The phone is now turned off until I have the passcode. Incidentally I've been waiting about thirty minutes for Chat with Apple Support to respond. Removing passcode - recovery mode scene does not appear Is there any other way to recover/restore or delete passcode. Have iPhone 7 not yet activated as I cannot remember the passcode. I followed all the instructions i.e. pressed till slide off appeared, kept phone 4 feet from computer which is on, however then nothing happens. I have never had an iPhone before. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Have you followed the steps here?

If you've forgotten the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled – Apple Support
