Just got my new MacBook Air. In setting up, I elected to use the Touch sign in feature. Now, it wants me to enter a password before it will accept the touch. But I did not set up a password. It does not accept either my Apple ID password nor the 4 digit access code that I use for my iPad. I can see no way to reset this password since it will not allow me to sign on. I’m stumped! HELP!

Entering a password is required when setting up a new Mac, so there is a password.

Hopefully you enabled iCloud recovery at setup, you can use your AppleID to reset your password.
