MacBook Pro not starting

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro. It will not start. When I push the power button, the fan starts but there are no other signs of life— buttons do not light up, totally black screen. I’ve followed all of the options for a MacBook not starting and nothing has fixed the issue:

• Taken battery out for 10 min, replaced
• recovery mode (command+r; shift+command+r; shift+option+command+r)
• pushed power button for 10 seconds, let go, push again (When I do this, the fan will start, but no lights on the keys and nothing on the screen)

A couple of other notes:

• initially, when I plugged the power cord in, it was turning orange and not turning green (indicating full charge) even after being plugged in for days
• bottom of computer is very hot
• The same thing happens when the battery is out and I try to start the computer
