Hbo max subscription through Apple ID not recognized by HBO on my iPad

I have an active HBO Max subscription through my Apple ID that is recognized on my Apple TV.

I have the HBO Max app on my iPad, but when I try to sign in through the “sign in with your provider” pages with my Apple ID it says I don’t have a subscription through Apple TV. I made sure I am signed in to my Apple ID on the iPad, and I tried deleting the app and reloading it, but I get the same error message.
