iMessaging on Macbook Air

I have been trying to connect to iMessage from my phone to my Macbook for months

now and nothing on Apple Support seems to have the answer. Someone please help.

Thanks for the response. We understand you are unable to enable your phone number in iMessage, which is causing syncing issues. If you haven't already, refer to the troubleshooting steps listed in the article below, specifically, the "If you can't see or select your number in Messages or FaceTime" section.


Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime

I am already signed into iMessage on my Mac, but it wont allow me to change my preferences to use my phone number. It only uses my email currently and blocks it out so I can't add my number or deselect the box option where my email is. I have already tried to sign out of my iMessage and retry but it will not let me. And because of my number not being on my Mac anymore, the messages are not syncing as well. I hope this made sense.
