Students appear offline in Apple Classroom after update to iPadOS 13.6

Seems like students and especially teachers using Apple Classroom should avoid updating to iPadOS 13.6, as students then appear offline, even if student devices are nearby and online. If teacher updates to 13.6, all students appear offline, if teacher remains on 13.5.1, only the students with 13.6 appear offline.

I've confirmed this by my own testing, and it is also reported elsewhere, for example here:

Anyone found a fix/work-around?

Important update: It seems the issue I warned about is maybe not an issue with iPadOS 13.6 per se, but something relateted to our MDM (Jamf School), as you can see if you study the coversation I linked to in my original post.

(Of course, I recommend testing on a few devices anyway before upgrading, even if you’re using a different MDM).
