Two factor notification window shows up on my phone but disappears too quickly for me to get the code..?

Trying to set up Apple TV. When I register the Apple ID it gives me the two factor authentication request. That’s all fine

I do get a two factor notification window on my phone (iPhone 7, iOS 13.5.1). It pops up for 1-2 seconds then disappears. I tried 4 times before I was fast enough to hit the allow button. Then I saw the code long enough for me to catch 3 out of the 6 digits but it disappeared immediately.

I can’t find a way to re-display the notification window.

what do I do to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

You should select the option that you did not receive the code, and opt to send it via text message. Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication

The last step in the article I provided, is going into the Settings of your iPhone and generating a code. Review the last step in that article titled "Get a code from Settings on your trusted device".

I don’t see that on the Apple TV. I know see enter the code. If I back out of that screen it puts me back into ‘enter Apple ID’. Apple TV model A1469 Software 7.3.1(8068)
