Message app won't delete messages

Hello Larry Israel,

We want you to be able to automatically deleted your older messages so you don't have to remember to delete them manually.

Go to Settings > Messages > Message History > Keep Messages, then choose 30 Days. After confirming to Delete, do you still have message past 30 days?

If so, force close the Message app, restart your iPhone, and try again.

To help us pinpoint why the older threads have not been deleted after 30 days, please tell us:

1. Are all of the older threads in Messages not deleted? If you open a thread which has been ongoing for more than 30 days, are the older messages still visible?
2. If not, what color is the background of those messages that remain?
3. Are you running the latest version of iOS? Open Settings > General > About > Software Version.
