Transferring info from Mac to Mac

Hello,

I just got my 16” MacBook Pro today and want to transfer from my MacBookAir to the new Mac. It’s been transferring for about 2 hours now. How long does this typically take? Both are plugged in and side by side on a wireless network. The new Mac says ‘Starting Up...” and the both of them say ‘transferring your information’.

Depending on the speed of your Wi-Fi Network locally (not your Internet speed) it can take quite a while.
