Retrieving deleted messages

I accidentally deleted a contacts messages. They dated back 10 years. My phone has backed up since I deleted them. Is there any way of retrieving them?

If you were using messages in iCloud - Keep all your messages in iCloud - Apple Support and deleted those messages, then they are not retrievable. If you weren't using this feature, you can try restoring from a backup.
