Mac still won't start up

I recently did a hard shutdown using the power button. When I went to restart the computer, it would not turn back on. I shut the computer down because I needed to move it to a new location. No power up at new location in my office, moved back to old location, still no power up. I've tried holding the power button down for 10 seconds and then pressing again as suggested in a forum, but it did not work. *At the new location, I did try to use my older Mac power cord. Could that have caused an issue or a break of some sort?
