MacBook Pro storage

Is it possible to upgrade my MacBook Pro from the standard 256 GB to 1TB? Or is the only options using iCloud storage or using a portable external hard drive?

Depends on the age of your Mac. Older models can have the storage upgraded, more recent models have the drive soldered to the logic board and cannot be upgraded.
