Explicit Content Getting Through Filters

The contest restrictions do not seem to work. I have set the restrictions and locked them but iTunes is still allowing explicit music. I am searched a played a few of Prince's raunchier tunes with no problem. How do we make this work?

Hi sthenbelle,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like iTunes is still allowing explicit content to play even though you've set restrictions to stop it. We'd love to help get this resolved for you!

When using iTunes for Windows, setting the restrictions can vary based on how iTunes was downloaded. Check out Use Restrictions in iTunes on your PC to ensure you're set up correctly.

Cheers!

Thanks sthenbelle,

To be clear, are you logging in to her iTunes and then setting it up from there by entering the administrator password when prompted? This can sometimes require account validation for Windows, which Microsoft Support would be able to advise further on.

If the issue isn't one of the things mentioned above, please Contact Apple Support to continue troubleshooting.

Best wishes!

Thank you, Michelle. I must not have been clear, please forgive me.

I have followed the steps in the the link you sent, clicked the lock icon, and it does not work. Explicit songs are still allowed. I also disabled iTunes store and apple music at the admin level but those restrictions do not stick either. After I close the admin controls and open iTunes under her signin, the store and apple music are still available. :(
