Recover deleted original

I have about 76K photos in Apple Photos. Recently, I noticed that there are a few photos that I cannot edit, revert to original, export, or use to play a slideshow. I can't tell that these photos have anything in common. Often, one of the 'bad' photos will be for the same event where all the others are fine. Following some discussions in this community, I discovered that only the bad photos are missing from the 'originals' folder inside my .photoslibrary package.

Since Apple Photos can still show the bad photos, is there any way to regenerate their files in the 'originals' folder, so that the export, edit, and slideshow features can be used on these photos? I realize that this regenerated file will not the same as the real original -- that's okay. I only want to be able to export, edit, and show them in slideshows. I've tried many suggestions (disabling and re-enabling iCloud, rebuilding the library, etc) that didn't help. Working solutions would be appreciated. Thanks!
