can I restore a backup from a different apple id

I was using a shared Apple ID on the iPhone and now I want to set my own Apple ID

can I use the new Apple ID on my iPhone but restore the backup from the previous shared Apple ID ?

Get your iPhone restored first from the "shared" Apple ID then change the Apple ID.

When you start your restore process you will be provided with list of devices on iTunes and not Apple IDs.
