Catalina upgrade has caused huge problems to my Mac. Help!

Hi there. I recently upgraded to Catalina and my Mac is no longer operating normally. It is very slow to respond and excel will not open. Please help as I need this urgently for work.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Catalina - installed by can't run Catalina shows as "installed" on my mac when I look at my app store. When I try to run this it simply doesn't go. I get stuck on this screen all the time... a screen that says "Catalina will be installed on Macintosh HD drive. I click Install and nothing happens. I tried to restart my computer numerous times. I have over 15 GB free as well ... HELP!

Beach Balling and Terrible Performance Catalina - Revised Posting I have an older iMac Late 2012 - ever since installing Catalina and all the updates the OS has just gone Crazy. I have done everything, work with Apple Support and reinstalled the OS 3 times. That helps for a short while then files won't copy, Time Machine won't work, Everything is very slow, FaceBook is the slowest then quits. What do I need to do ? I have run ErteCheckPro and number of times and worked my way through most of the problems, but nothing has helped. I cannot get the entire report on this post without exceeding the character limit. Sometimes rebooting also helps for a little while. I have restarted and reset the PRAM and everything else that Support suggested. Thanks for any help.
