My Wallet app won't load

i am wanting to set up apple pay, however my wallet app won’t load - i only get a white screen. why is this?

Wallet Issue I am trying to add a new card to my wallet and after clicking on the + sign on the right top side of the wallet app it immediately pops up a message saying “Could not set up apple pay, an error occurred while setting up Apple pay”. I tried everything but it does not go away!!! What can I do to overcome this issue? Thanks

Force close the app (How to force an app to close - Apple Support),

Sign out of your Apple ID
Force reboot your device (Force reboot device - Apple Support)
Sign back into your Apple ID
