Fullscreen problem with VNC

I was using VNC to control a second MAC being used as a Time Machine and went into fullscreen mode. However I could not get back out of fullscreen and had to shut down the connected MAC. Does anyone have a fix?

Need help to turn off screen on iMac macos Big Sur Hello, I would like to create a way to turn off the screen on my imac running Big sur. I know the keyboard shortcut Control Shift Eject will do that, but I would like to do it from a remote connection (VNC or teamviewer) I've created a service that will do it using automator, but ideally I would like to create an icon that I could just click on. I tried creating an executable that runs a terminal command : pmset displaysleepnow It does indeed work, but it leaves the terminal window open after. I tried going into preferences - profile - shell and select close window after running. The terminal window is indeed closed, but the icon remains running in the dock. Basically, I want to be able to VNC or teamviewer to my imac from my iphone, do what I need to do, and be able to turn off the imac screen after I'm done, from my iphone. There must be an easier way to do this than what I'm currently attempting! Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

How to make VNC Viewer on iPad connect with Mac (Big Sur) Screen Sharing before someone logs in? I would like to use my iPad with VNC Viewer via Screen Sharing to control my Mac Mini. However, I've discovered that VNC Viewer cannot connect with the Mac after it's turned on or rebooted until after someone logs into it. Once I login, I *can* access the Mac via Bonjour or the Address Book entry I made in VNC. The VNC error I get before logging into the Mac seems to indicate that before that initial login the Mac is not listening on the Screen Sharing port. I suspect I could work around this issue by enabling auto login on the Mac, but to do that I would have to disable File Vault, which I'd rather not do. So, my question is: is there a way to get the Mac to start listening on the Screen Sharing port (5900, I believe) and accept screen sharing requests after the machine boots up and before anyone logs into it? I don't want to disable File Vault and I don't want to leave the Mac running all the time. TIA

in the case of most fullscreen apps moving the cursor to the top of the screen will display the dialog for close, and so forth

also VNC is a protocol so there are many implementations of both client and server side so if your client is not to your liking you can try some of the other vnc clients
