I want to store photos permanently in iCloud, and delete them from devices. Is there a straightforward way to do that?

I want to upload all photos to iCloud for storage, and delete them from my iPhone or iPad without deleting from iCloud. Is there a straightforward way to do that?

No.

iCloud storage is for backup and syncing only.

If you delete any photos, those photos will also be deleted in every devices that use the same Apple ID.

This is how syncing works.

Best you save photos onto your computer before deleting.
