I'm trying to watch a movie I bought from apple TV but it says I have to "authorize this computer" from some account. What does that mean and how do I do that?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Sometimes you need to authorize a Mac to play certain purchases. Seealso this Apple Support overview regarding authorizing/deauthorizing one's computer for iTunes purchases. If these steps don't work, please advise what model Apple TV you have. (Also, if you haven't updated the TV OS, please do. Lastly, here's a thread regarding a similar issue arising with regard to an Apple TV - 1st generation, with a parent and child sharing the same iTunes account. (I can totally related!). An Apple Community Specialist articulates clearly the steps needed to authorize the computer.
