Can I wash iphone 11 pro under running water?

Hello everyone

I wonder if Apple support can address the answer to an alarming question “Can I wash iphone 11 pro under running water with avoiding water entry through the lower border including socket for charging and microphone?”.

Apple announced that iPhone Pro has a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 4 meters up to 30 minutes).

That is demanding as being a medical staff working in direct patients care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apple has revised it's cleaning instructions in light of the pandemic. Chris0107 provided the link above.

Water resistant is not water proof. Do NOT put your phone under running water or submerge it in water.

I do not think that would be a very good idea as the phone is meant to be splash proof, water resistant, not waterproof. Cleaning with disinfectant wipes would seem to be a safer alternative. But I am no expert. I hope others with more experience will comment.
