Verbatim USB drive noe working

What is the exact problem you have with it?

Which exact model laptop and which version of macOS?

What file system and partition type is used on this USB stick?

Did you use Disk Utility to erase the USB stick for use on a Mac?

Are you trying to mount the USB stick or trying to boot from it?

Have you tried using another USB port preferably on the other side of the laptop?

Is the USB stick connected directly to the laptop or are you using a dongle/adapter, hub, or dock?

The quality of many USB sticks is quite poor and Macs can be a bit more picky about the USB sticks used. This USB stick may just be bad.

Have you restarted your laptop?

Edit: Is this USB stick used exclusively with this one Mac or with multiple Macs? or even with Windows or Linux systems? I have personally seen a USB stick not work when used between different Macs (or rather different versions of macOS --- although I believe this was more due to a bad USB stick).
