Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities Traceyflynt,

We see that you're having an issue with hearing people on your iPhone. We understand how important it is to not only be heard but to also hear the other person clearly, and we'd be happy to help.

Take a look at the article below that provides some troubleshooting steps that can help with what you've been experiencing.

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

If you go through this article and the issue remains, respond back with the answers to the following questions.

  • Does this only happen on phone calls? Or do you experience this with FaceTime calls?
  • Are you able to hear other audio, such as music, without an issue?
  • Does this only happen when talking to a specific contact or contacts?
  • Which version of software are you using?

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Have a great day!
