Hi I want to get an Apple Watch that is compatible with the new version coming out in the autumn so I can track my sleep. Is there a certain phone and watch I need to have to get this?

thanks!

You will need an iPhone that supports iOS 14 and later. iOS 14 is coming out to the public later this year and works on the iPhone 6s, iPhone SE (first-generation) and later devices.

The Apple Watch Series 3, 4 and 5 can run watchOS 7. Apple has dropped support for the Series 1 and 2 and they won't be compatible. I'd advise that you purchase a Series 4 or 5, or wait until the Series 6 comes out if you want the very latest Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Series 4 and later have a rounded OLED display and comes in 40mm and 44mm (compared to the Series 3 in 39mm and 42mm with a squared display). It's got ECG capabilities, better haptics, speakers and microphones and runs smoothly with the latest versions of watchOS.

One of those compatible Watches, paired with an iPhone that can run iOS 14, will be a great match.
