Only two emojis showing unicode when used

Ok I have two emojis - The smiley face and the Winking face. When i use them they both have the unicide come up after them. It is so annoying and I did not know how to stop it! It does not happen on any other emji - just these 2 across any device I use. Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Here are the offending "beasts". (It impacts iMac, Macbook Pro, Ipad Pro and Iphone 7 - all my devices)

Does this happen in all apps, including Safari, Mail, Message, Notes, Pages?

Hi Tom - yes it happens all devices and on all applications. Drives me crazy - some mates reckon I am an ace coder though 😉

I am not sure where I see the response that solves the problem.

Only you can generate the "solved" mark. You probably just clicked on something by mistake. Happens sometimes.
