MacBook Air not connecting to internet

my brand new MacBook Air with OS Catalina suddenly lost its internet connection although it was still connected to the network.

Network diagnostics was normal. Other devices are connecting to the network. But the laptop will no longer connect to the internet. Same issue with hot spots. The connection to the network is shown but the computer will not connect to the internet.

has this happened to anyone? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

thx!

Weird. First review the remedial steps described in How to connect to the Internet with your Mac - Apple Support which will take you all of about thirty seconds.

Then, try creating a new "network location" as described in How to use network locations on your Mac - Apple Support. That often fixes problems too difficult to diagnose otherwise.

If it still doesn't work, Contact Support. Your Mac is new and you shouldn't have these problems with it.
