Is there a replacement for iPhoto?

Is there a replacement for iPhoto? I'm trying to add a white border to a picture I want to frame and from findings, seems like iPhoto is supposed to be the go-to app but can't seem to find it on the App Store. how else can I go about this please? I use a MBP late 2013.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Photos replaced iPhoto. What are you using now?

In any case, neither are general photo editors, and can't do what you are looking for. If you want to use what you have, you might be able to get Preview to create a blank canvas larger than your image and paste your image inside of it. Or you can use Pages to do pretty much the same thing.

Otherwise, you can get a more fully featured photo editor like Affinity, gimp or PhotoShop Elements

Which system version is installed on your Mac? The successor to iPhoto, the "Photos.app" is installed by the system, in any system version since MacOS 10.10.3 Yosemite. If you do not have Photos installed on your Mac, you may need to upgrade the system.

To put borders and frames around my photos I am using FX Photo Studio Pro. It offers a large collection of frames and borders.

In that case

I’m just basically trying to create pictures for my wall frames and I want them to have the white borders around them.

In that case, just try printing. Your software should let you choose the size of the image. If it is smaller than the paper size, it should center the image on the paper. For example, if you print a 5x7 inch image on an 8.5x11 paper, you should get an image on the center of the page with a white border around it.
