So I recently bought some phones and these were included. Here's the issues:
iPhone 2G (first gens) - one does absolutely nothing. I've tried 6 different 30 pins and a lot of electrical outlets. The other one boots to the Apple logo then turns off - I suspect it's a dead battery but I'm not sure.
iPhone 3GS - does nothing when plugged into power. One time it did boot to the Apple log but then it got stuck.
Anyone have advice/diagnoses?
Recycle them. They're pretty much useless.
Even if they "worked", the 2G can't be used as a phone anymore because they are all locked to AT&T, cannot be unlocked, and AT&T no longer has a 2G network. Never mind the fact that it's impossible to get any apps for it.
The 3GS is almost as bad.
They have no value as collector's items.
iPhones are not user serviceable. Apple no longer services those models.
If you want advice on how to fix them, you'll have to go somewhere else. It can't be discussed on these Apple sponsored forums.

I collect Apple devices and sometimes I don't know what to do to fix them, which is why I come here.
And I'm not oblivious to the fact that 2Gs, 3GS's, and 4's can't be used as phones anymore.
There's no rule for that. Also, I really appreciate you taking down my other thread! Really do.
