I just got an IMAc 2015 from someone and I can’t figure out how to erase their Apple ID so I can log into mine

Deleting a user on iMac Can't delete myself as a standard 'user' on a 2015 iMac. Signed in with Administrator's credentials (iMac owner) and password. Opened preferences, opened users and groups, unlocked screen, selected my id, selected minus sign to delete, typed in correct id. Get a message password is wrong. Remove Macbook from my Apple ID If I remove my Mac from my Apple ID, could someone else sign in to the device with his Apple ID? I have already erased the hard drive and reinstalled the Mac OS. The device should in in an out-of-box state as I don't continue the setup process. I plan to sell this device, so I just want to make sure someone else could sign in without any problem.

Did the former owner erase the computer and set it up again? If not, you need to do that to make it 'your' computer. Start with step 6.

If you have a windows keyboard, use the alt key in place of option and the windows logo key in place of command.
