Face ID is not working since update to 13.6

This morning for no reason, Face ID on my iPhone X stopped working. I've gone through all the steps, updated my software, restarted, performed a hard reset, cleaned up the camera region. When I try to reset up Face ID, I am told "Face ID is not available, try setting up Face ID later." Any suggestions? Is anyone else having this problem today?

Sadly, I've done all these steps, and many more without help. Apple support ran a remote diagnostic test and found nothing wrong. One step we did try was to try to take a portrait photo using the front camera. It's unable to focus that way, and keeps telling me to step back. The support specialist felt that meant that one of the front cameras is malfunctioning. The best they could offer was to send the phone back, and pay $550 for a replacement iPhone X. This is very strange though - I'm not the only iPhone X user whose Face ID has quit functioning with the 13.6 update.

When you tried the actions outlined here, did you happen to check and confirm that your iPhone wasn't in Silent Mode? If not, would you mind checking and if so, give these steps another try?
