FOC Case from Apple.. iPhone 4

its all being done through the appl website i believe. As yet no other info is available. Its my understanding that from the conference on the 16th that today is the day that we should know but nothing as yet.

I'm expecting an e-mail or a letter in the mail this week. That's the way they handled it when they recalled their power outlet cubes for my iPhone 3G.

The bumper case info applies exclusively to Apple Store for the time being. Note however there are very few bumpers available for the iPhone 4. It's a long process to develop (3.2 million?) iPhone bumpers. According to blog agencies that's the current count for iPhones sold.

it was in the Q&A when he was asked im sure. This has been removed from the video on the apple site.

I've been a bit disappointed at the lack of info on apples site regarding this issue. I assume they don't want to advertise the problem, but come on guys you've got a lot of good apple customers getting pretty frustrated out here. So far I'm not very happy with my IP4 I seem to be having more than my fair share of problems and what's worse I can't put my micro sim into my old 3G or my 7 year old back up Nokia (as I used to when my battery packed up or I couldn't get a signal on the iphone) to get me out of trouble. I have never been happy with the iphone as a phone so always carry my backup Nokia but love every thing else it does -how mad is that!

You could if you got yourself a micro sim adapter. Go Google.

Just had an email from apple store following my order for iPhone 4 with dock and bumper- saying that they have automatically refunded the bumper part of my order. Cool huh?

That was the whole idea of the update - it gives a more accurate/meaningful/lower reading on the signal strength.

Hi Matt,

I rang O2 yesterday to enquire about the bumper cases, and was told to purchase one in an O2 store, and then take the receipt to an Apple store for a full refund. This seemed ok, but my nearest Apple store is over 40 miles away so hardly worth it!

I then rang Apple Support who told me all iPhone4 users will be able to get them through apple.com shortly, although couldn't give an exact date.

I rang apple yesterday and they said it will be on apple.com today or monday at the latest.
