Exporting vertical video from iMovie

So when i try to edit and export a vertical video from iMovie it shows up to be a zoomed out movie, with the video happening in the middle and a lot of dark around all 4 sides of the video.

How can i solve this?

*i already did the click the magnifying glass, zoom in stuff.

I imported some previously captured DV PAL footage into iMovie 10.1.14 If I skim over it in the Browser or Timeline the image in the Viewer remains BLACK! If I then export the footage, I get the images in a 16:9 aspect ratio though the picture is not distorted . . . just cropped. So is there any way of viewing the video in the Viewer and exporting it with the correct 4:3 aspect ratio or is iMovie just not able to cope correctly with DV footage?

when I export my movie from iMovie, the video is super small with a large white border Why is the video so small once it's exported from iMovie?

Can't edit 1440p videos in iMovie Been having some trouble editing and uploading my 1440p videos from the GoPro on iMovie. Whenever i import the video, it automatically changes the project format to 1080p. I've looked at your previous thread with a similar issue, telling me to drag the 1440p/4k video to the front of the project at first and it will change the project format, however this did not work for me, and all im seeing in the menu is 1080p. Furthermore when i try to export the project, the maximum resolution is also 1080p. Anyone had similar findings?
