The App Store is confused with an old Apple ID and the new one

I couldn’t update apps because it asked for the password for my new Apple ID, but only accepted the password for the old Apple ID. I think the apps that I first downloaded on the old Apple ID are still connected to it and I don’t know how to move them under my new account without deleting and re-downloading all the apps.

You can try setting up Family Sharing between the IDs if you want to be able to share purchases made with the IDs.
