My entire desktop is gone

My entire desktop is gone all of a sudden. All files, folders even the desktop folder itself. The documents folder is entirely gone, too. I can still see the folders on my icloud drive but I cannot download them since they don't allow you to download folders from icloud drive.

On my local icloud I can see the two folders but they are both empty. I suspect this is an icloud drive issue. Please send help, ask any details you may need.
