airdrop from iphone to mac

my iphone could not detect my macbook even both have the bluetooth and wifi on. The privacy setting of macbook was set to "all all incoming connection" and the iphone was set to allow connection with everyone. However, my iphone could not detect my macbook when i try to airdrop fotos from ipone to macbook. Please help.

System: Macbook air 2014 (OSX 10.9.5)

You need to upgrade the Mac to at least Yosemite.
