2nd gen iPod touch and iBooks

I have a 2nd Gen iPod touch and want to read books on it. The iBooks app I have been using for years got corrupted and i deleted it. But now i cannot download the new books app. Using 4.2.1 software which apple says is the latest version of software for this iPod version

How can i read books on my 2nd gen iPod touch? Help gratefully received
