Seagate 6tb hard drive occasionally disconnects

Seagate 6 Tb back up ,every so often i get a message saying the drive was not ejected properly.

When i had not touched it.I have only had the drive about a year.

It is a bit worrying if a back up is going on.

It has never done that when i was using it on the Apple Thunderbolt display USB2 port.

i Hope there is nothing up with the port on my 2017 IMAC.

It has never happend with my 2tb drives i have been using over 13 years.

You know the message you get when you have taken the drive out to ealy.

Cable! I had similar situations where drives were ejecting but weren't touched

for very, very long times. Replaced the cable, and all was well. Drive manufacturers

supply the cheapest cables they can get away with and over time a whole variety

of things can happen to them, even if they haven't been touched from day one.
